GOD'S CHALLENGE FOR A RIGHT RESPONSE - Part One

THE INVITATION HAS BEEN GIVEN

In Matthew Chapter 22 Jesus told the parable of an invitation to a wedding.

"The kingdom of heaven is like a certain king who arranged a marriage for his son, and sent out his servants to call those who were invited to the wedding; and they were not willing to come. Again, he sent out other servants, saying, 'Tell those who are invited, "See, I have prepared my dinner; my oxen and fatted cattle are killed, and all things are ready. Come to the wedding."' But they made light of it and went their ways, one to his own farm, another to his business. And the rest seized his servants, treated them spitefully, and killed them. But when the king heard about it, he was furious. And he sent out his armies, destroyed those murderers, and burned up their city. Then he said to his servants, The wedding is ready, but those who were invited were not worthy. Therefore go into the highways and as many as you find, invite to the wedding. So those servants went out into the highways and gathered together all whom they found, both bad and good. And the wedding hall was filled with guests. But when the king came in to see the guests, he saw a man there who did not have on a wedding garment. So he said to him, 'Friend, how did you come in here without a wedding garment?' And he was speechless. Then the king said to the servants, 'Bind him hand and foot, take him away, and cast him into outer darkness; there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.' For many are called, but few are chosen." (Matthew 22: 2-14).

RESTORATION THROUGH FORGIVENESS - Part Two

UNFORGIVENESS IS THE ENEMY'S SCHEME

When addressing the Corinthians about forgiveness Paul said: "If you forgive anyone, I also forgive him. And what I have forgiven - if there was anything to forgive - I have forgiven in the sight of Christ for your sake, in order that Satan might not outwit us. For we are not unaware of his schemes" (2 Corinthians 2: 10 & 11).

Unforgiveness is a scheme of the enemy to cause discord among people and to trap them in a place where they cannot find peace and move on. That is why we must fight so hard to LOOK FOR REASONS TO FORGIVE, rather than looking for ways to avoid it. Those who refuse to forgive lock their own hearts in prison and hold themselves in bondage.

RESTORATION THROUGH FORGIVENESS - Part One

The challenge of forgiveness is perhaps one of the hardest things for believers in Christ and non-believers alike to come to terms with. It doesn't seem to matter whether the offence has been great or small, real or perceived; all of us throughout many occasions in our lives will come face-to-face with the choice as to whether or not we will forgive.

THE CREATIVE POWER OF WORDS

GOD SPOKE...

The Bible begins with: “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth” (Genesis 1:1).

The word ‘created’ used in Genesis 1:1 and elsewhere in the Old Testament, is translated Bara’ in the Hebrew language (Strongs concordance). Bara’ is translated create, creator, choose, make, cut down, dispatch, done, make fat.

The word Bara’ when used in the Bible to describe either the CREATOR, OR SOMETHING BEING CREATED OUT OF NOTHING, is NEVER used in reference to man – IT IS SOLEY RESERVED FOR GOD AND GOD ALONE!!

INTIMACY WITH GOD

UNDERSTANDING OUR NEED FOR A SAVIOUR

The Bible tells us that GOD’S PERFECT LAW BRINGS US INTO FREEDOM! WHEN WE LOOK INTENTLY INTO God’s law and DO WHAT IT SAYS we will be BLESSED IN ALL THAT WE DO. “But the man who looks intently into the perfect law THAT GIVES FREEDOM, and continues to do this, NOT FORGETTING WHAT HE HAS HEARD, BUT DOING IT – HE WILL BE BLESSED IN WHAT HE DOES” (James 1:25).

But simply observing the law does not make us righteous or bring us closer to God, because all of us will fail at some point. Rather it is in observing the law and in understanding what it says that WE BEGIN TO UNDERSTAND WHAT SIN IS.

ENTERING GOD'S REST

A DAY LIKE ANY OTHER DAY

A DAY LIKE ANY OTHER DAY CAN CHANGE THE REST OF YOUR LIFE!

It was on a day like any other day that God said to Abram:  “Leave your country, your people and your father’s household and go to the land I will show you” (Genesis 12: 1).

It was on a day like any other day that God prophesied over Abram: “I will make you into a great nation and I WILL BLESS YOU; I will make your name great, and YOU WILL BE A BLESSING. I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and ALL PEOPLES ON EARTH WILL BE BLESSED THROUGH YOU” (Genesis 12: 2 - & 3).

ARE YOU CALLED TO MINISTRY?

WE ARE CALLED TO SERVE

When the mother of James and John, two of Jesus’ disciples, came to Jesus to ask if each of her sons could be given a place at His side in heaven, Jesus said to her "You don’t know what you are asking" (Matthew 20: 22). This mother was indeed totally unaware at the time, of what sacrifice her sons would have to make in order to follow Christ.
