Many years ago, the Lord gave me a dream addressing the things of His Spirit.
In this dream I was shown a large black pram, much like the old perambulators used to carry babies, in early 20th Century England.
This pram the Lord showed me, was representative of the death of a large promise or perhaps many such promises that had never come to fruition. The reason for this, very soon became apparent.
For as I looked into the pram, I saw a number of small glass vials, containing samples of algae and bacteria, similar to what would be found on display in a science laboratory.
I was then shown a large, glass, entomologist’s display board, with various small insects and bugs pinned to the display behind the glass. As I stood there looking at these, I began to point at each one and say, “I’ve seen that one before.” “I’ve seen that one before.”
The Lord then showed me, that these bugs and contaminants that were on display, were representative of the wrong motivations and attitudes in the hearts of many people, and this was why God’s promises for them had not yet come to fruition. He showed me many things, such as pride; rebellion; back-biting; slander; derision; anger; competitions; jealousies; factions; envy and the like. See also, Galatians 5:19-26.
James instructs us,
“What causes fights and quarrels among you? Don’t they come from your desires that battle within you? You desire but do not have, so you kill. You covet but you cannot get what you want, so you quarrel and fight. You do not have because you do not ask God. When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures. You adulterous people, don’t you know that friendship with the world means enmity against God? Therefore, anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God.”
James 4:1 – 4 NIV
Or do you think that the Scripture says in vain, ‘The Spirit who dwells in us yearns jealously’?”
James 4: 5 NKJV
Let us rather be like our father Abraham, whom the Apostle Paul spoke of, remembering Him, saying;
“(As it is written, ‘I have made you a father of many nations‘) in the presence of Him whom he believed—God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did; who, contrary to hope, in hope believed, so that he became the father of many nations, according to what was spoken, “So shall your descendants be.” And not being weak in faith, he did not consider his own body, already dead (since he was about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah’s womb. He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform. And therefore “it was accounted to him for righteousness.”
Romans 4:17 – 22
Therefore, when speaking of Jesus the Christ, the Apostle Paul says,
“For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us.”
2 Corinthians 1:20
“For whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved.”
Romans 10:13
