The Importance of Prayer in the Ministry

Many years ago, the Lord, again, gave me a very specific dream. This dream had been given to me for a reason. Although I didn’t fully understand the reason at that time – I knew that the Lord was protecting me.

In this dream I was first standing in the midst of a completely empty or derelict car park. It was derelict because the ministry vehicles of others were no longer present. And though the ground was made of concrete or bitumen or tar, or similar hard-wearing material, it had been sitting empty so long, that the weeds had begun to grow up through the cracks.

I then found myself facing toward the other side of that same car park. This time it looked more like a tennis court with a high chain wire fence around it, perhaps indicating there had been a lot of going back and forth in that place. Some kind of plant or creeping vine was growing over the top of the fencing, so that my vision was obscured from what was happening on the other side.

The difference between this scene and the first, was that in the second, I was parked in my own car, or ministry vehicle. The other difference I noted in the two scenes I was in, was that the first scene was in the daylight, whilst the second scene took place in the dark of night, perhaps indicating that the hour was getting late to resolve it.

As I sat in my vehicle in the dark, another car pulled up behind me to my left and parked behind me. Knowing that I was by myself in an otherwise deserted place in the dark, I began to feel a little concerned. I was wondering to myself, what is that person doing there and why are they parking behind me? To my horror, I then saw a male figure hop out of that same vehicle and begin to walk towards me.

At this point, in an act of self-preservation, I immediately locked all four of my vehicle’s doors from the inside in order to keep myself safe. This person continued to walk toward my vehicle and to my horror simply opened the door on the front passenger side even though I had definitely locked it. But He then reached in His hand toward me to shake my hand and introduced Himself saying, “Hi, I’m Hosea.”

An immediate calm came over me as I realized He was not a threat to me, and I then reached out my right hand in response, to shake His, saying, “Hi Hosea.”

Hosea, translated ‘Salvation’ in the Hebrew – See Strong’s Concordance; then walked in front of my vehicle with some sort of racket or strong stick in His hand (I cannot remember which) and began to bat away multiple missiles in the form of rocks, stones or golf balls (again I cannot remember which) which had begun flying over the fence towards my ministry vehicle. I knew then, that this Man, Whom I now know was God in human form, the living Christ, was protecting me from the flying insults and the words of others that were being spoken against me. His Name was and is, the Lord Jesus Christ. And He will do the same for you today if you trust in Him. Amen. Amen. Amen.

The Apostle Paul said,

Jesus Christ Himself said, “I must work the works of Him who sent Me while it is day; the night is coming when no one can work. As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.” – John 9:4 & 5

And the Psalmist said,

The Gospel of Peace

Faith and power go together! You cannot separate the two! These are words of grace for all mankind. The power is in the Gospel, not in the person who speaks. Therefore, we do not have to be afraid when we stand up to speak, for the Gospel has a power of its own. Its power is endued from on high toward us who believe.

Are you truly submitted to Christ?

Are you truly submitted to Christ?

There is a powerful verse in the New Testament of the Bible that reads, “Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil (translated ‘false accuser’ or ‘slanderer’) and he (the devil; Satan – translated ‘our adversary’ or ‘one who withstands’; and described by Christ as a ‘murderer’ and ‘the father of lies’) will flee from you.” – James 4:7.

If you would like to have a relationship with God through accepting His Son Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour, please pray the prayer below.

Dear Heavenly Father. Thank You for sending Your Son Jesus to die on the cross for my sins. I am sorry for the sins I have committed and I ask You to forgive me. I now turn away from all the things that I know to be wrong and I receive Your Holy Spirit and Your gift of eternal life. Thank You for this free gift of Salvation and eternal life. Help me to come to know and experience Your love for me more and more, and to now share the love You have given me with others. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

We would love to hear from you: If you have prayed this prayer for the first time, or have recommitted your life to Christ today I would love to hear from you to encourage you in your new walk with Christ. You can send me an email by clicking 'Get in Touch' on the yellow bar at the bottom of the Home or Articles pages.

What next: Once we have started our relationship with Christ – it is important that we continue to grow in our understanding of Him, and experience His love for us on a regular basis. God does this for us as we read the Bible, which I encourage you to do on a regular basis, asking the Holy Spirit to help you understand it and make it “come alive” to you in a very personal way. May I encourage you to do this every day, and to actively pursue those things that God reveals to you. We also need to be spending time with other like-minded Christians on a regular basis, who are also growing in their relationship with God. We gain encouragement from being with other growing believers. Ask God to lead you to a Bible-believing church (or Bible-believing Christian group) that will encourage your relationship with Christ and help to meet your needs. Ask Him, and trust that He will guide you to the place of fellowship that is right for you.

May God both work in you and through you, those things that He desires, as you continue to submit your life to Him each day.
