The following thoughts from the Lord then came to me.
“Are you serving to give back to God? Or are you serving to fulfil your own needs? No one can serve out of an empty vessel. God wants hearts that are pure. He wants hearts that are committed to God and His purposes being fulfilled in their lives. Are we looking to ourselves, or are we looking to God to see His purposes fulfilled?
Immediately following this, came the words, “There is no God like Jehovah!” from the song, “Days of Elijah” written by Robin Mark (1994).
This morning, I was also greatly encouraged by this Scripture from Matthew 6:34 in the KJV.
“Take no thought for tomorrow” – The Biblical usage of this word ‘thought’ means – ‘to be anxious, be troubled with,’ or ‘to seek to promote one’s interests.’ But rather, we are to be committed to God as His word directs.
The amplified version of this same passage of Scripture reads:
“But first and most importantly seek (aim at, strive after) His kingdom and His righteousness [His way of doing and being right – the attitude and character of God], and all these things will be given to you also. So do not worry about (take no thought for) tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own” – Matthew 6:33 & 34.
I strongly encourage you to read the history behind the story of the song ‘Days of Elijah’ as written by its author.
